    Because of its proximity to the Serra de Tramuntana mountains, Hotel Turixant is the perfect starting point for hikes and cycling tours. Guests can choose from an almost infinite number of trails and routes of varying levels of difficulty. And for those who prefer a peaceful walk, this is the perfect spot: This is Majorca at its best, with meadows, fields, olive groves and mills. The Mediterranean coast is about 40 to 50 minutes away by car: the beach at Port Alcúdia, the beach Playa de Formentor and the bay Cala Tuent are truly beautiful and perfect destinations for a day by the sea.

    An island with history

    Above the small village of Mancor del Valle, the first cultural highlight awaits: on the Puig de Santa Lucia sits the16th century Monasterio de Santa Lucia. The view that opens up from here extends down to Inca which is 4 km away. At the end of November, Mancor del Valle comes to life with the Esclata-Sang, the annual mushroom market with exhibitions, handicrafts and various cultural events, which attract locals and visitors from the island and beyond. The next important event on the annual calendar is the Sant Joan festival on 24 June (St. John's day).

    Close to Mancor de Valle is the beautiful town of Inca, where you will find numerous sightseeing opportunities, such as the baroque church Santa Maria la Major d’Inca, or the Dominican monastery. A visit to the charming coastal villages in the west of Serra de Tramuntana should not be missed: Deià and Valldemossa are picture-perfect. Another cultural highlight is the monastery Santuari de Lluc right in the heart of the mountains. Additionally, the island’s capital Palma de Mallorca is only a 35-minute car drive away and has some impressive sights, like the famous cathedral, internationally-renowned museums, a diverse selection of theatres and concerts, a huge gastronomic landscape and excellent shopping opportunities.
